We have been blessed to make friends with a family from Ethiopia that hosted an Entukatash celebration for our LEAN (Loudoun Ethiopian Adoption Network) group yesterday. We had a lovely time as we enjoyed learning about the history and culture of Ethiopia, watched videos of the music and dancing of different regions of Ethiopia, ate amazing Ethiopian food and drank homemade honey wine all homemade by Askale, participated in a coffee ceremony, and watched a cooking demonstration. It was actually like a mini Ethio Culture Camp. We even had gorgeous handcarved chairs borrowed from the Ethiopian Embassy to view and enjoy. A great time was had by all! A special thanks to Asratie, Askale, and family for hosting this wonderful event! It is amazing that this group has grown from a handful of families to close to 40 members strong since we started this group less than two years ago. We are so blessed to have this network of families to draw on for support and friendship!
Blessings,
Kristy
