Okay, it's time to let the cat out of the bag and share that Bizuayehu has chosen to go by Grace. She will always have Bizuayehu as part of her name as well so she can choose what she wants to go by. So she is Grace Bizuayehu, affectionately called Gracie B often by her Mama. She is just so joyful and truly has a love for family...her family. She loves photos of all of us together and will walk around saying "I love family" while holding the photos. She and her brother got notebooks out of the school supply box the other night so that they could have their own writing journals. On the first page, Grace had written each of our names with a heart and "love" after each name. At the top, she wrote "family." Then she erased it and wrote "I love my family." It reminds me of Steven Curtis Chapman's song about orphans & adoption where he sings "All I really want for Christmas is a family." That is our Gracie girl. She has her family and treasures something that the rest of us just take for granted! It is precious. It still catches me off guard to see a child cherish her family so much! Then, there is the next level of her adoration....her Daddy. Oh, Grace so loves her Daddy. He has to travel monthly for work and she is so so sad when he leaves. She knows every day how long he has been gone and exactly when he is coming home. She even told her ESOL teacher at school over and over the other day, "Daddy's leaving." So hubby got us all connected to Skype and Grace was able to see her Daddy and talk to him before school today (which was about 4AM his time! Is he just the BEST Daddy EVER?!?!?) She was so happy after that, she was singing and dancing all around the kitchen as she prepared her breakfast! So this post is in honor of my sweet sweet girl Gracie B and the joy that she brings to our family!

Your story continues to touch so many hearts!!! Can hardly wait for your wonderful, famous Christmas newsletters. We have seen how the girls took to the water sports, now I guess it will be their "snow angels" pics next!!!
Thank you for this post. It is so good to hear how well she has adjusted. We got an update from M the other day saying that she wants us to hurry and come get her. I am praying for strength for her and us and finding comfort in what will come in our future.

Your girls are beautiful. We actually plan to give our new daughter the name Grace as well. She is 9 years old. We will give her the option of Grace as her middle or first name. Hopefully she will get to come home in January. We have been waiting since April for her.

Just found your blog, and it is wonderful!!
It is nice to see another adopting family in NOVA. We are not adopting from overseas (we bean by thinking of Ethiopia, but had a change of plans) but I love to read about all of the forever families that come from Ethiopia... who knows what is planned for us, maybe we will end up there someday too. For now, I just want to say thanks for putting up such precious moments from your lives for those of us still waiting to take heart from.

Grace is just beautiful. Love the name too! :0) When we chose Gracelynn for our daughter, I expected to call her Gracie... but Mike didn't like that. Now though, after months of calling her "Grace" and hearing her teachers and my side of the family call her "Gracie", I think I'm heading that direction. It's just too cute of a name. Looks like your family just blended together beautifully.
