Life As A Family Of 8

Life as family of eight.....in a nutshell exhilarating and exhausting. It has been a great first week.
Bizuayehu has made so many friends in the neighborhood and is often outside in the Cul-de-sac playing with them. We were going to wait a while and transition her into school, but she watches her siblings get on the bus each morning and she wants to go to school. So yesterday we went to her school and had a tour and she met her teacher. It was neat because we stopped by her little brother's class also, and she saw several of her neighborhood friends there. She was so excited. So she will officially start school in the next week or two.
Hiwot has had the typical toddler bonding/separation issues this week (on top of having a sinus infection.) What that means is that if Mom isn't close enough for her to touch, she is a very mad and angry baby. She is temperamental so when she is happy, she is sooo happy. And when she is mad, she is oh so mad. She is such a dolly girl though. We think that she turned the corner last night as she rolled around on the living room floor with her siblings wrestling with Daddy. She is usually up at 5-5:30AM and she slept in until 8AM this morning! And she has spent this morning with her siblings, and Mommy has been out of sight. Yiipppppeeeee! Also, I think that the antibiotic is kicking in as well as her nose is not so goopy anymore.
Life is good and we are so blessed.

Bizuayehu sounds like a little socialite. That great that she wants to go to school and is making so many new friends. Hiwot sounds a lot like our youngest. She is most happy when Mommy or Daddy is holding her. It's good to hear that Hiwot is feeling better. It's just no fun being sick.

With Love,
Penelope

So wonderful to see your family ALL together.

You make six kids look "doable".

We will see....

It is amazing to see the changes in Bizauyehu! She was so small and shy when we were there! I think they don't just fatten up the babies. :) Her smile is just delightful!!! Have you shown her any of the blogs of traveling families. I just wondered what it might be like for her to see that we're all "long distance friends" here in America. :) Rejoicing with you that you have your girls home! Love, Shelly

So glad to hear things are going so well! We really can't wait to see you and GiGi REALLY wants her new friend to play. Let me know when you are ready for an outing to the park or even to my house for lunch, or we could come to you if that's easier/more comfy for Hiwot.

So glad you are home and all united. I can't wait to hear more about your trip and the adjustment period. I can't believe how fast these kids catch on and it's hard to even remember that Samuel hasn't been with us forever. Best of luck to you! Love the pictures

Wow - you are an amazing family. Just found your blog off of Lori S's - we just got home in July with our little girl, Destiny, making us a family of 6, and wondering HOW I could ever get my husband to agree to do it again. Wow - I am impresses. Hooray for you all.
